Classic Sloppy Joes

Comfort food at its very best.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil |
1 1/2 lb ground beef sirloin |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
2 teaspoons steak seasoning blend |
1 onion, peeled and chopped |
1 red bell pepper, rinsed, dried, trimmed and chopped |
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar |
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce |
2 cups tomato sauce |
2 tablespoons tomato paste |
4 hamburger buns |
Directions:
- In a large skillet over medium high heat, begin to brown ground beef in oil. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and steak seasoning and add to pan, stirring to incorporate.
- When the meat is fully cooked, add onion and red pepper to the skillet. Reduce heat to medium.
- Cook onion, pepper, red wine vinegar and Worcestershire sauce with the meat for 5 minutes; reduce heat to simmer. Cook mixture for an additional 5 minutes.
- Top bottoms of buns with Sloppy Joe mixture, cover with bun tops and serve.
