Blackened Steak and Shrimp Alfredo

Surf and Turf has never been so delicious.

Ingredients:

8 oz penne pasta
1 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
3 teaspoons blackened seasoning
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 lb top sirloin steak, cut into cubes
1/2 stick unsalted butter
1 yellow onion, diced
2 teaspoons garlic, minced
2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Directions:

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the penne and cook until al dente. Drain the water.
  2. Season shrimp with 1 teaspoon of blackened seasoning.
  3. Bring a large skillet to medium heat. Pour in the vegetable oil. Add the shrimp and cook for 2 minutes per side. Transfer the shrimp to a plate.
  4. Season the steak with 1 teaspoon of blackened seasoning.
  5. Turn the heat to high and add the butter. Place the steak in the skillet and cook for 2 minutes per side. Transfer the steak to the shrimp plate.
  6. Reduce heat to medium and add the yellow onion. Cook for 3 minutes. Then add the garlic and cook for 1 minute. Lastly, add the parmesan cheese, heavy cream, kosher salt, black pepper, and the remaining 1 teaspoon of blackened seasoning. Stir until the cheese is melted.
  7. Pour the penne noodles into the skillet and toss to coat.
  8. Transfer the penne to serving plates. Top with the shrimp and steak. Enjoy!
