Oven Roasted Beef Brisket

Serves 10 | 
A fantastic roast for special occasions.

Ingredients:

4 lb beef brisket
2 tablespoons salt
1 tablespoon ground black pepper
1 tablespoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
2 teaspoons dry mustard
1 tablespoon sugar
1 bay leaf, crushed
1 1/2 cups beef stock

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. Combine salt, pepper, garlic powder, chili powder, onion powder, dry mustard, sugar and crushed bay leaf in a small bowl. Stir to mix well. Liberally season entire beef brisket with seasoning mix.
  3. Place beef brisket in a roasting pan. Place in oven and roast for 1 hour.
  4. Remove pan and brisket from oven. Pour beef stock in pan and fill with enough water to fill 1/2-inch. Reduce heat to 300° F, and cover roast with foil and place back in oven to roast for an additional 3 hours.
  5. Remove roast from oven. Transfer to cutting board. Slice meat and place on serving plates, drizzle juices from pan oven sliced meat and enjoy!
