Fried String Cheese Bites

Serves 8 |
Crispy outside, extra cheesy center.
Ingredients:
8 string cheese sticks
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt, to taste
Ground black pepper, to taste
2 large eggs
1 cup panko
Vegetable oil, for frying
Marinara sauce, warmed, for dipping, optional
Directions:
- Cut each stick of string cheese into quarters
- Stir together the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika salt, and black pepper in a bowl. On a second bowl, whisk the eggs until smooth. Pour the panko in a third dish.
- Dredge each piece of string cheese in the seasoned flour, until well coated. Then dip the string cheese pieces into the whisked eggs. And then roll the string cheese pieces in the panko.
- Pour a generous amount of vegetable oil in a large skillet, about 1 inch deep. Bring to medium heat. Once hot, place a few of the string cheese pieces in the skillet. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side, until golden brown. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate. Repeat the process, working in batches, with the remaining string cheese pieces.
- Serve with marinara sauce. Enjoy!
