Slow Cooker Beef Brisket





Serves 16 |
The easiest and tastiest way to enjoy beef brisket.
Ingredients:
| 5 lb brisket, trimmed |
| 2 yellow onions |
| 1 cup beef broth |
| 1/2 cup dry onion soup mix |
| 4 tablespoons Dijon mustard |
| 1 tablespoon brown sugar |
Directions:
- Slice the onions and place in the bottom of the slow cooker. Pour the beef broth over top.
- Coat the beef brisket with the onion soup mix. Place the brisket into the slow cooker.
- Spread the Dijon mustard over the top of the brisket.
- Cover and set slow cooker to low. Cook for 9 hours.
- Transfer the brisket from the slow cooker to a large roasting pan. Sprinkle the brown sugar over brisket. Place the oven rack near the top and then place the brisket in the oven. Set to broil and cook for 5 minutes.
- Remove the brisket from the oven and let rest for 30 minutes.
- Pour the liquid from the slow cooker and the drippings from the roasting pan into a bowl. Skim the fat and pour the liquid into a blender. Add the onions from the slow cooker to the blender. Pulse until smooth to create an au jus.
- Slice the brisket and place slices on serving plates. Pour on the au jus. Enjoy!
