Thai Basil Beef





Serves 4 |
One skillet meal with big flavors.
Ingredients:
| For the Sauce: |
| 2 tablespoons brown sugar |
| 2 tablespoons soy sauce |
| 2 tablespoons fish sauce |
| 1 tablespoon oyster sauce |
| 1 tablespoon lime juice |
| 1 teaspoon chili sauce |
| 1 teaspoon cornstarch |
| 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil |
| 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander |
| 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger |
| 1/2 teaspoon white pepper |
| For the Stir Fry: |
| 1 tablespoon vegetable oil |
| 1 lb ground beef |
| 1 green bell pepper, sliced |
| 1/2 sweet onion, thinly sliced |
| 2 jalapeno peppers, sliced |
| 6 cloves garlic, minced |
| 1 cup Thai basil leaves |
| Cooked rice, for serving |
Directions:
- Whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, lime juice, chili sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, coriander, ginger, and white pepper in a mixing bowl. Set aside.
- Pour the vegetable oil into a wok or large skillet. Bring to medium-high heat.
- Once the oil is hot, add the ground beef. Cook until beef is just beginning to brown.
- Add the bell pepper, onion, jalapenos, and garlic. Cook and stir for 2 minutes.
- Pour the sauce over the stir fry and stir to incorporate. Cook and stir for 2 minutes.
- Add the basil and cook until the ground beef is thoroughly browned.
- Transfer stir fry to serving plates and serve with a side of rice. Enjoy!
