Tuna Avocado Salad Sandwich

A delectable variation of the classic.

Ingredients:

1 avocado, pit removed
1 can albacore tuna in water, drained, 5 oz.
1/2 tablespoon lime juice, more to taste
Salt, to taste
1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
2 tablespoons diced red onion
4 slices whole wheat bread

Directions:

  1. Place the tuna into a mixing bowl and mash with a fork. Set aside.
  2. In a second bowl, mash the avocado with a fork.
  3. Transfer the tuna into the avocado bowl. Spritz the lime juice over top and season with a little salt. Add the cilantro and red onion to the bowl. Mix together until well combined.
  4. Spoon half of the tuna avocado salad onto two slices of bread. Spread out to evenly cover the bread. Place the remaining two slices of bread on top of the tuna avocado salad to complete the sandwich. Cut in half and enjoy!
