Hawaiian Ham and Pineapple Kebabs

Tropical taste without the plane ticket.

Ingredients:

1 lb boneless smoked ham, cubed
3 cups cubed pineapple
1 green bell pepper, cubed
1 red onion, cubed
1/2 cup pineapple juice
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup ketchup
2 teaspoons hot sauce
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
8 skewers, wood or metal

Directions:

  1. If you are using wood skewers, soak them in water for 45 minutes beforehand.
  2. Arrange the ham, pineapple, bell pepper and the onion on the skewers. Set aside.
  3. Pour the pineapple juice, brown sugar, ketchup, hot sauce, white vinegar, garlic powder, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl. Whisk together until well combined.
  4. Bring the grill to medium-high heat.
  5. Place the kebabs on the grill. Brush the kebabs with the glaze. Grill for 4-6 minutes per side, brushing the kebabs with the glaze after each turn.
  6. Remove the kebabs from the grill. Serve while hot.
