Caramelized Onion Dip

Serves 8 |
The perfect party dip of March Madness.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter, (unsalted) |
2 onions, (peeled, sliced thin) |
Ground black pepper, (to taste) |
8 oz. cream cheese |
1 cup sour cream |
2 tablespoons chives, (fresh, chopped) |
Potato chips, (your preference, for serving) |
Kosher salt, (to taste) |
Directions:
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium-low heat.
- Add the onions and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, until onions are deep golden brown in color, 30 to 35 minutes. Remove onions from heat and let cool.
- Transfer onions to a medium-sized bowl. Add cream cheese, sour cream and chives; season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Stir ingredients until well mixed. Serve dip immediately with potato chips.
