Oven Baked Beef Stew

This classic dish just got a whole lot tastier!

Ingredients:

2 lb stew meat
1 onion, coarsely chopped
3 stalks celery, coarsely chopped
3 carrots, coarsely chopped
1 can diced tomatoes, undrained, 15 oz.
1 can tomato sauce, 8 oz.
1 can beef broth, 10.5 oz.
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon dried marjoram leaves
4 red potatoes, cubed
2 cups sliced mushrooms

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325° F.
  2. Combine stew meat, onion, celery, carrots, tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, marjoram leaves, salt and pepper in a Dutch oven. Place top on and bake for 2 hours.
  3. Take out Dutch oven and stir in red potatoes and mushrooms. Place top on and bake for an additional 90 minutes.
