Homemade Barbecue Chicken
Rate this Recipe
Serves 4 |
A little sweet, a little spicy, absolutely delicious.
Ingredients:
4 split chicken breasts |
1 tablespoon olive oil |
1 1/4 cups ketchup |
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard |
2 tablespoons Worcestershire |
1 teaspoon hot sauce |
2 tablespoons dark molasses |
1 tablespoon cider vinegar |
1 garlic clove, minced |
Directions:
- Prepare sauce by combining ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire, hot sauce, molasses, vinegar and garlic in a medium saucepan. Bring ingredients to a simmer then cover and cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. (If sauce gets too thick add a little water) Allow sauce to cool.
- Place chicken in a large bowl and coat with olive oil. Bring grill for medium heat. Grill chicken for about 5-7 minutes, until browned all over. Generously brush tops of chicken with sauce, cook for 2-3 minutes then flip chicken. Brush sauce over chicken, close lid and cook for 5-7 more minutes. Open lid, flip chicken once more, brush with sauce and cook for 3-5 minutes.
