Serves 4 |
A classic sandwich that's surprisingly easy to assemble.

Ingredients:

1/2 Italian bread loaf
1/4 cup Italian dressing
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
1/2 cup mustard
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 lb Genoa salami, thinly sliced
1/2 lb mortadella, thinly sliced
4 slices provolone cheese
Romaine lettuce, rinsed and dried
3 plum tomatoes, rinsed, dried and sliced
8 slices bacon, cooked crisp and cut in half

Directions:

  1. Cut bread diagonally into 8 slices and arrange on a baking sheet.
  2. Brush bread slices evenly with Italian dressing and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake at 375° F until lightly toasted, about 5 to 6 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, combine mustard and mayonnaise; spread mixture evenly onto un-toasted side of bread.
  4. Layer 4 bread slices (mustard mixture side up) with salami, mortadella, provolone, lettuce, tomato and bacon slices. Top with remaining 4 bread slices, mustard side down and enjoy.
Course: Dinner
