Hot Mulled Cider

A unique drink to enjoy during the holidays.

Ingredients:

3 thin slices lemon
2 cinnamon sticks
1 thin slice fresh ginger
5 whole white cardamom pods, crushed
4 star anise
6 whole cloves
10 black peppercorns
1/4 cup fresh orange juice
4 cups apple cider

Directions:

  1. Place lemon slices, cinnamon sticks, ginger, cardamom pods, anise, cloves, peppercorns, orange juice and cider into a medium saucepan; stir to combine. Bring to a simmer over medium heat; cook for 30 minutes.
  2. Place a fine sieve over a large bowl and strain cider. Discard solids.
  3. Serve cider hot.
